POSITION
Summary:
Supervises the line associates in the value added production plants. The supervisor will provide leadership and direction to their team to achieve performance results in the area of safety, quality, cost control (overhead, productivity, and yield) and service. Supervisors will identify and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement of performance. Continuous improvement of performance utilizing various continuous improvement mythologies such as TPM, Kaizan, OEE and Lean Manufacturing, etc., the supervisor is responsible for the leadership and development of the associates in the team. The supervisor will provide coaching, training, communication/feedback. The supervisor will be responsible to comply with the USDA-FSIS regulations and the company programs; including the adherence to SOP, review and verification of documents, HACCP and Food Safety Program, and monitoring of associates for compliance to these programs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Four year degree BS/BA.
Previous USDA background and/or certification/training is highly desirable
College level written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates leadership, interpersonal and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to achieve performance objectives
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
Computer literacy
Two years Supervisory experience (preferred)
Previous Food Manufacturing experience (preferred)
Must be able to work up to 12 hours in a refrigerated environment 34 degree F to 36 degree F
HACCP Certification preferred
Familiar with USDA Regulations for TRE (Ready to Eat) products
POSITION
Responsibilities:
Comply with the companies system, including facilitation of safety meetings, safety audits, injury investigations, and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Conduct pre-shift planning, including but not limited to review of raw & finished inventories, development of daily production schedule, review of line/equipment readiness and condition, determination of staffing requirement.
Facilitation of pre-shift exercises and meeting with team members.
Frequent review of production schedule and order, and adjusting the plan as required ensuring compliance to service expectations, while minimizing dump/donations to goal.
Frequent monitoring to ensure the proper line/equipment operation, and GMP compliance. The supervisor will review performance objectives (throughout, yield productivity, waste, etc.) a minimum of every 2 hours and make appropriate changes to achieve performance goals. The supervisor will be expected to be on the floor a minimum of 75% of the time. 25% planning, process, administrative and meetings.
Complete daily administrative tasks. These items include completion of performance management reports, labor reconciliation, associate-scheduling etc.
Assure that all data information for key indicators, RPDMS, and JDE work orders are accurate and completed ontime.
Review the department's performance results versus goal. Identifying and implementing corrective actions to continually improve the department/line's performance.
Ensuring the integrity of the line/equipment by submitting and monitoring work orders and coordinating the PM schedule with the Department Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
Ensuring good housekeeping of the work place, and providing feedback to the sanitation team on equipment sanitation.
Maintain proper staffing levels. This includes requisitioning, interviewing orienting and training new associates.
Conduct regular team meetings with associates to communicate news and results and to develop team-based action plans to improve the department.
Provide coaching, training, and feedback for each member of the team to ensure each person is achieving their performance expectations. Support each associate by addressing his or her specific needs.
Complete the progressive disciplinary process as required to correct performance/behavioral issues.
Daily review and verification of forms to comply with HACCP, Food Safety Program, and SSOP
Verification of Package Certification to assure product identity; verification of Bowls and case labels code information for accuracy of information
Assist, monitor, and verify the Pre-Operation and Operational inspections to prevent non-compliance from USDA inspectors
Familiarize and use the Bistro Bowl Program as a coaching and training tool to support the Bistro Bowl program
Review processing areas, associate practices, ingredients, and processing lines for compliance to Bistro Bowls program; make recommendations to changes as needed
Involved with the development of corrective actions and preventive measures when responding to non-conformances.
Other tasks assigned.
Must be cross trained in the various functions of the Quality Assurance department and must be knowledgeable on the QA standard operating procedures.
Must have knowledge of food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Organic Guidelines.
